Cathryn Buckley Arcomano was an international artist who lived and worked in Manhattan. She had exhibitions in the United States, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Hong Kong. Her paintings were acquired by museums and corporations including the Brooklyn Museum, The Newark Museum, Everson Museum of Art, the Gannett Company, Nordstrom, Pfizer and the Skadden Arps law firm.
She was born in Troy, New York in 1923 and shortly thereafter her family moved to the Buckley ancestral victorian home in Altmar, New York , where at an early age she began painting in the “Tank Room “.
Cathryn started her formal art education at the University of Mexico, and Obrea College in Mexico City via The College of St. Rose in Albany New York.
She was described in her year book as ”Pensive, dreamy…an artist’s artist…clever, poetic Cathy.”
After her marriage, she pursued her art studies at The New School “Art Workshops” in New York City, where she was awarded first prize for painting in 1974 –and her career as a working artist began and continued until her death in 2012.
